Tailgating is a State of Mind

Tailgating, as we know it, is born out of fandom. It’s an excuse to have a little fun in the parking lot before a game.  Tailgating means delicious food, genuine atmosphere, and an awesome, slightly boozy time with friends. Here, we dive into why we need to get out and tailgate more in our favorite parking lot.

Anyone who really loves tailgating loves tradition.  Tradition is more about the ritual than it is a specific place.   It’s all about good food, good people and good fun, and it can happen anywhere.

Tailgate fans would prefer to party it up in the parking lot of their favorite stadium with fat, juicy burgers sizzling away over charcoal.  Hot dogs and hamburgers are a must, but soups and chili in the colder weather are also acceptable options.  Tailgating is a lifestyle and fans are getting fancier and fancier with their food options.

The most important part about your tailgating equipment is it's portable.  Your grill, tables and all the necessary cooking equipment can’t be cumbersome to lug around.  Make sure you have everything you need and keep it all stored together so it is easy to just grab and go.

Flip cup? Beer pong? Touch football? All great tailgating games, and all 100 percent portable. Unlike some sports culture with cult-like fanaticism (we’re looking at you, bowling), the must-haves can be packed up and transported wherever your dedication may take you.

Now a playlist tops the list for “gotta-have-its”, but with iPods and tiny speakers that pack a powerful punch, there’s never a worry that you’ll be without your anthem (and every tailgating party has their own anthem!).

When it all boils down, the best part of tailgating is spending time with family and friends, getting pumped up and talking about the game.
