BBQ Burgers

SAUCE:

1 cup ketchup

½ cup packed light brown sugar

½ cup sugar

¼ cup honey

2 tsp. yellow mustard

1 ½ tsp. Worcestershire sauce

¼ tsp. salt

1/8 tsp. pepper

 

BURGERS:

¼ tsp. onion powder

¼ tsp. garlic powder

¼ tsp. pepper

1/8 tsp. salt

1 ½  pounds ground beef

6 hamburger buns

Toppings of your choice

 

Recipe Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine the sauce ingredients. Bring to a boil.
  • Remove from the heat. Set aside 1 cup barbecue sauce to serve with burgers.
  • In a large bowl, combine 1/4 cup of the remaining barbecue sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, pepper and salt. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well.
  • Shape into six patties.
  • Grill, over medium – medium-high heat for 6-8 minutes on each side or until a thermometer reads 160°, basting with 1/2 cup barbecue sauce during the last 5 minutes.
  • Serve on buns with toppings of your choice and reserved barbecue sauce.

 

 

Grilled Veggies

1/4 cup olive oil

2 tbs. honey

2 tbs. balsamic vinegar

1 tsp. dried oregano

1/2 tsp. garlic powder

1/4 tsp. pepper

1/8 tsp. salt

1 pound fresh asparagus, trimmed

3 carrots, cut in half lengthwise

1 large sweet red pepper, cut into 1-inch strips

1 medium yellow summer squash, cut into 1½-inch slices

1 medium zucchini, cut into ½-inch slices

1 medium red onion, cut into wedges

 

Recipe Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk the first seven ingredients.
  • Place 3 tablespoons marinade in a large resealable plastic bag.
  • Add vegetables; seal bag and turn to coat.
  • Marinate 1-1/2 hours at room temperature.
  • Grill vegetables, over medium heat 8-12 minutes or until crisp-tender, turning occasionally.
  • Place vegetables on a large serving plate.
  • Drizzle with remaining marinade.
